A special meeting of the FM Chamber’s Regional Issues committee has been called to discuss in greater detail the cost and protection levels of the MN and ND diversions being considered for the Fargo Moorhead community.
Permanent flood protection, health care reform, transportation and energy top the list of legislative priorities for the Fargo Moorhead Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber advocates building the most efficacious project which addresses immediate and long term conditions of the metro region via a 35K CFS (cubic feet/second) diversion.
As the U.S. Senate takes up its health care bill, following the November 7 passage of the Affordable Health Care for America Act by the House of Representatives, the Chamber of Commerce of Fargo Moorhead is looking at how the provisions in the bill match up to Chamber goals, as defined in our annual Legislative Agenda.
The next Surface Transportation Authorization Act is going to require that Metro COG use planning factors such as livability, sustainability and public health as it develops plans and programs within the FM metropolitan area to justify Federal aid.
While I haven’t been able to figure out the mystery of who stirred the health care pot, I realize that most Americans are conversing about health care reform and most agree that our current health care system should change.

Congress is considering legislation that will have a negative impact on business. After careful consideration of presentations from proponents and opponents, your Chamber of Commerce of Fargo Moorhead opposes the Employee Free Choice Act. If enacted, it would eliminate an individual’s right to a secret ballot when forming a union.
