Instead of just trying to fix the problem of hunger, we are creating awareness and raising a generation of leaders by engaging elementary schools and younger students within our high schools.

As the students and parents started to pull into the parking lot and the lawn began to fill up with sleeping bags and pillows, my heart started to race, it was finally happening.

We wrapped up our time in Minot with a trip to the Scandanavian Park. After a quick downpour we were able to do some exploring, what a beautiful area! We hit up the downtown for a creative project with a local business, and students were able to do some mosaic art and tile painting.

At the Domestic Abuse and Crisis Center, we had our work cut out for us. They needed their entire office buildining interior painted. They busted out gallons and gallons of paint, and the students went right to work.

The Chamber’s Youth Leaders are hard at work in Bismarck, N.D.

Our mission: to complete some much needed repainting of playground equipment at three Devils Lake parks.

As parents and supporters waved, and bus horns honked, our Youth Leadership students departed for their 5-day adventure.
